I have the print head alignment chart printed out, so how do I read it? PIXMA ip8720
There are 7 columns with retangular blocks of either blue or black shades. In the 6 &7 columns the 4th blocks from the bottom are missing.

Hi,
What should I do to improve quality of prints? In text prints (PDF/Word/ODT) every other line is bold and visually moved a litle to side.
In image prints you can see stripes.
It doesn't matter if I print from Windows machine, Linux or from iPhone.
I've run multiple times headers cleaning program and aligment (automatic and manual).
Please, provide me with guide how to solve this.
Have just reinstalled OS 10.8.5 and OS 10.11.6
Used supplied printer install disc and suggested down load for both.
Pixma MG7760 will not print to DC/DVD. The print to J tray is selected in both setup and print windows.
Just keeps printing to paper.
Mac OS Sierra - IP8750 - Illustrator / InDesign - Macbook Pro 2011 / iMac 2014
First of all I've been getting some fantastic results from this printer, but also some very frustrating issues regarding colour reproduciton. I don't think there's a fundemental issue wiht the hardware, but my setup must be wrong somehow.
I primarily print illustrations using InDesign to layout my page before print. If I print Plain Paper (standard quality) colours match my screen and expectations well, as soon as I try to print Matte Photo (high quality) the output becomes MUCH darker, and magentas show a huge skew towards blue, with pinks becoming purple for example. My CMYK value here only has 4% cyan as well which is weird to me... All this is to Canon Matte Photo MP-101 (although the same is true on standard copy paper).
If colours were consistent between settings it wouldn't be so much of an issue, or even if I could print Plain Paper (High Quality) but this isn't a option as far as I can see.
My best guess as to why this is happening is that the "plain paper - standard" ICC profile does a fine job at converting RGB to print, but the higher quality profiles are expecting work produced under a different monitor calibration?! IDK but this is where my research has led me.
The best / closest I've been able to achieve is setting my display to Adobe RGB 1998 and reworking my illustrations to look right here, then output is a lot closer. It's just frustrating that colours are so good from the plain paper standard setting, but the output quality isn't good enough and the opposite is true for anything else.
Any help here would be appreciated as I'm tearing my hair out trying to get to the bottom of what's happening.
Thanks
I have a canon mg8120b printer/copier that stopped working then came back to life on it's own, worked well for awhile but now won't recognize cartridge C even though I've changed it. I've tried taking it out, unplugging, plugging back up and re inserting cartridge C with no luck, still doesn't recognize it... HELP!!! PLEASE!!! I am a technology challenged single mom of a 15 year old who attends online school. We need this printer!!! Thanks in advance...
Can I fool my Canon ip8700 series to print borderless on a envelope size not in the drop box box. Trying to print a A9 envelope
I have a Pixma MX922 and I am trying to scan to a USB drive. When I plug the USB flash drive into the printer, the printer says "USB drive detected". So I set up the Scan to USB flash drive function. But when I scan I receive an error message "Cannot detect a USB flash drive". Doesn't matter if I scan from the feeder or the screen.
Any suggestions?
My bigger scanning problem is I cannot get my computer to show up in the computer list. We have everying over wifi, and I don't know how to scan to my wife's computer or the cloud.
My wife did everything to register her computer, logging in to the point that she can view the printer and its current status. But when I am on the printer in the scan mode and select "save/forward", in both the "Scan to Email" and PC options all I get is Local (USB). How do I get the computer and scan to email to appear?
We have chromebooks, if that helps understand our issue.
Thanks!
My printer will not connect to my laptop via USB I tried printing from a different laptop and it worked perfectly fine. How do I delete and redownload my printer so it recognizes it? Or is there another solution I am missing?
We bought this all-in-one printer several years ago, and with the exception of it running through ink extremely rapidly, we have been satisfied with it, until yesterday when it doesn't want to print anymore. I had just installed a brand new Canon 241XL from Walmart to replace the empty one and it worked great for a few color printouts I needed. Within minutes after printing these sheets, though, it wouldn't print anymore. The code E05 comes up which means the printer doesn't identify the print cartridges. It sure ID'd them at first - why did it suddenly not ID them? I have since tried removing and replacing both the black and the color cartridges several times to no avail. The printer will not print black OR color. What's the deal?
Printing pages with text and coloured photos, the text comes out fine but photos have narrow bands of smearing across photos.
Cleaning ALL given options has done no good.
Why ?

We're packing and all our stuff will be in a moving truck, going all the way across the USA in November. The official info I found says to leave the print cartridges in place, but to ensure that the printer is kept upright during the move. I've watched enough movers to know that there is zero chance the printer will make it all the way without the box being put in various random orientations.
So, given that the printer will likely end up in the wrong orientation, I'm wondering if it might be best to remove the printer cartridges and discard them, and then buy new ones after arriving at the new house. I'd appreciate comments from anyone who knows the technical ins and outs of these printers.
Thanks,
Kevin
I have two new P23-DH V calculators and it is frustrating that the calculator turns off after a few minutes. Is this a setting that can be changed or just something to live with? I purchased two at the same time and both do this so I know it isn't a problem with the calculator. I don't see anything in the manual about it - and I don't recall seeing anything on the specs about it. Has anyone else run across this or am I the lucky one?
Does anyone know of other Canon printers that use P 40 & P 41 ink cartridges besides the MX310 model?
Win 10 64bit on Dell Inspiron.
I have both an iX6800 and Mp620 printer on this computer. The problem is ONLY with the iX6800. I have to restart the print spooler each time I want to print.
I do not have to with the MP620 regardless of which printer was previously used.
I deleted the driver for the iX6800 then downloaded and installed a new one from the Canon site. Same problem.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
Hi Folks,
Thanks in advance for any help here. I just bought an ip8720 and have been messing around with it. Gonna bullet point my needs here.
Thoughts?
What could be causing this? I've tried different materials (left is matte presentation paper and right is waterslide decal paper) and different print settings and get the same purple haze on the left side of the printed images. I have a brand new IX6820. I haven't printed a lot on it, but this only happens sometimes. I just printed a test page and it printed fine! But when I go to print the "important" things on the good paper, it doesn't print properly. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
I have PIXMA 2522 printer and I use a USB cord to print from my MacBook. It is now saying that the printer is offline and not connected but it is connected and I checked the cords multiple times. I do not have another cord to check it is the cord that is the problem. What should I do?
Hi
I have a Pixma IP8700 and I use it to print photos. I am working with some old black & white photos at the moment and would like to force the printer to printer using only the Black (BK) & Grey(GY) (dye) inks so I can see what a print looks like without the cyan, yellow & magenta dots all over it.
How can I do this? I am using both Windows 10 & OS X Yosemite...
PS I can see online how to force the printer to use the black pigment ink only (by setting the paper to plain), but this is not what I want as printing with the pigment only (PGBK) is very coarse.
