Pixma 6400 series

Hi all,

Now that the children are back from University we now have 3 printers in the house, all in the MG6400 series, 3 in 1 devices. Although a few years old they all work perfectly well and we are also well stocked up with Canon ink cartridges.

Recently my partner and I bought new Chromebooks and although they see the printers within Chrome OS they can't be set up as the models are not supported. I've talked with Canon as they have an app you can use on your smartphone and that works perfectly butit crashes when you try and use it on a Chromebook and Canon have said, unlike other manufactures, they do not have an app for the Chromebook.

My question is this: I don't need to scan anything using my Chromebook but it would be so handy to be able to print to one of these printers, does anyone know of a solution to this issue?

I have looked a buying 2 new printers, not Canon, but am of the mindset of why buy new printers if the ones I have work OK with Windows and Mac's but not Chromebooks.

Many thanks

Martyn
